Family "get-together"..

We had a great time at Mom and Dad's this past Saturday! Dad grilled chicken on his 'pig cooker', and there were all kinds of 'fixin's'. My brother and sisters and some of their families were present and enjoyed a very nice afternoon together. This building we're in is a shop Dad had built behind his house to have our big family 'get-togethers'. He decorated the walls with various farm tools, baskets, and even some of my old oil paintings and my first electric guitar! It kinda looks like a museum :-) We really like meeting and eating here.

A lovely picture of mother and daughter...

Here's another picture from August 13, the day we were in Wilmington for Nicole's birthday. Before having an evening meal together, we visited Barnes and Nobles for a few minutes, and then stopped to take a couple of pictures including this nice picture of Ana Maria and Nicole. Don't they look beautiful!

Someone's birthday...:-)

We went to Wilmington on Sunday August 13 to celebrate Nicole's birthday! Take a look at that beautiful cake! It tasted as good as it looked. The same lady who made this cake will make Brian and Nicole's wedding cake. We enjoyed a nice meal at Macaroni Grill this same evening - a very nice time :-)

Sunday nite after evening church service...

Sunday night Ana Maria and I sang a couple of duets at church. We really enjoy music and singing together, and we're grateful to God for every opportunity He gives us to sing. Afterwards my dad and mom asked us over for some tomato sandwiches. Now that was an offer too good to pass up:-) We enjoyed a very nice time with my parents, talking and laughing, etc. Now I want you to look at that sandwich above! That is a perfect summer sandwich! Mom also shared with us beets and homemade applesauce. Grandma sent over some deviled eggs and the 'light' bread. I have a wonderful family.

Guess what we did on Sunday afternoon... :-)

Sunday afternoon after church we went to our favorite "haunt," Beans Coffee House! If you've never tasted blueberry coffee, you don't know what you're missing! We had a good time reading from a couple books there. One of the staff, Stephanie, was gracious enough to take our picture for us. The folks there are always thoughtful. We thank God for opportunities to have a "coffee break" and meet and enjoy other people.

Saturday morning breakfast...

Ana Maria cooked up a delicious breakfast Saturday morning! We ate eggs, brown rice, toast and jam, and enjoyed a cup of Starbucks coffee. And of course, olive oil went on everything :-) We also happened to discuss the possibility of going to Portugal one day. I know Ana misses her "old country" from time to time. Pictured above is the travel book Nicole let us borrow. It was easy to get excited about going to Portugal one day as we flipped through this really neat book...!
