Our little yard...

We enjoy working in our little yard. The top picture was taken this past Spring. The azaleas are so beautiful lining the sidewalk to the entrance of our townhouse! The next picture is of our little flower garden by the driveway. The bottom picture includes a shot of our first harvest of blueberries! We planted the blueberry bush just last year, and we are very proud of how well it is doing :-)

Just before Fathers Day...

Ana Maria and I met Natalie and her boyfriend, Jud, at Terrazzo's Italian resturant in Wilmington on June 14 to celebrate an early Fathers Day! Natalie actually works part time here, so she knew it would be a good place to eat :-) Natalie graduated from UNCW in May, and will be an elementary school teacher this fall. She thinks she will probably be moving to Raleigh (Jud is planning to go back to school at State University), and hopes to get a teaching position there. I'm very proud of her! Hey- isn't that calamari in front of Natalie and Jud? Yes, I believe it is:-) It was VERY good!

June 10 - Portugal's National Day...

Today, June 10, Portugal celebrates its National Day! Ana and I went downtown Jacksonville to hear the Marine Corps Band in concert. They played several pieces composed by John Phillip Sousa, whose parents were born in the Azores (Portuguese Islands) where Ana was born! Ana is wearing her Portuguese flag teashirt :-)

June 3 - Nicole moving out of her apartment...

Nicole and Brian recently got a new apartment at Porters Neck, so Nicole "invited" her mom to come help her get the apartment ready for the final inspection:-) We did take time to have some treats - french fries and chicken nuggets ! :-)

Graduation Day, May 6, 2006 at ECU...

I just received these pictures from my daughter, Meredith, of her college graduation at ECU, Greenville! I am so proud of her and her accomplishments! After a summer break, she's returning to school to attend graduate school. This was a very nice day; and Meredith's mom, grandparents, uncle and aunt, and sister (with boyfriend), and cousin all came over to her apartment for a hotdog roast after the ceremony! A very joyful time for everyone :-)

A beautiful day for a wedding...

We went to the wedding of our nephew, James, at my brother's home. It was a very nice outdoor wedding. The weather was a bit unstable, but the rain held off until after the wedding. I took this picture of Ana in the area near where the ceremony took place. Doesn't Ana look beautiful!
